The Weekend in Review

Friday Night – just the family eating calzone and watching Meet Dave.  I thought it was pretty funny.  Kelly fell asleep but I don’t think it was due to the movie.  After the movie we watched some of the Haiti fund-raising special.  I liked the Neil Young – Dave Matthews song and Justin Timberlake’s version of Hallelujah was good as well.

Saturday morning started off with the first game of the 2nd session of flag football and a rematch against the team we lost the championship to in the 1st session, 18-6.  It was much worse this time as the team of 6th grade all stars whooped us, 33-6.  Ryan Olson had our only touchdown (last play of the game) and he’s wearing a cast on one arm.  I spent the rest of the day prepping and painting my old office upstairs while Kelly did houework and Jack and Ryan played xbox.  We had an adult only birthday party to attend that evening with the Olson’s (good time) and made it home and in bed by midnight or so.

Sunday morning means indoor lacrosse and we lost a tough one to Pelham, 9-8.  Jack had a goal and at least hustled most of the game.  We’re going to work at home on defensive positioning and strategy bit as it finally occured to me he plays lax defensive the same way he plays defensive end in football (pursue the ball).  Unfortunately that doesn’t work so well when your team is playing man to man defensive in your own end.  We ran a few errands on the way home and I spent the rest of the day finishing up painting (ran out of paint before I was done) and putting up more fixtures in the cursed kitchen.  I did manage to watch some playoff football and help Jack with his Beatles project for school.

So, now it’s Monday morning and there’s a two hour delay (icy roads) for Kell and Jack.  I have to take the two old ladies to the vet for their rabies shot @ 8 so I’m trying (unsuccessfully) to get some work done.
